SLIP at Wild Goose Creative

  • Wild Goose Creative 188 Mc Dowell St Columbus, OH 43215 United States (map)

SLIP is a rotating dance performance and interactive installation that explores how the labor of dancing and the ideals of craftivism are woven together through the lens of feminist dance/craft practices and values. The divide between crafts and fine arts is often mired by sexism and the devaluation of (traditionally) women and femme’s labor and this show explores some common themes such as ‘How do we craft meaning?,’ ‘How are we the craft and the crafters?’ and ‘Anti-capitalist mindset of productivity’ to name a few.

This one-day-only event will be held on Saturday, July 2nd with performances at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm. The performances begin on the hour and participants are encouraged to mingle, contribute, and be present in the space before and after.

This performance is supported by funding from the Greater Columbus Arts Council
